Planet-SafeĀ® Microplates are made from polylactic acid (PLA) resin specifically derived from sustainably cultivated sugarcane.
Enhanced Cell-Binding
PLA is considerably more hydrophilic than polystyrene. This beneficial property allows a variety of anchorage-dependent eukaryotic cell species to grow on the dish surface additional surface treatments.  Comparative studies run with Planet-Safe® an average seeding density 42% higher than standard treated surfaces, while growth rate and confluence results were comparable.

Eco-Responsible Disposal
Disposal of Planet-SafeĀ® labware via incineration reduces overall life-cycle emissions by 84% when compared to typical single-use plastics. Due to the organic nature of PLA, biogenic carbon captured during plant growth offsets most of the emissions generated during cultivation, conversion and extrusion. Additionally, incineration releases water vapor and an neutral amount of CO2.
